Over and over again, I’ve convinced myself I found mine- the perfume I’d wear forever, the shampoo I’d always buy, the body wash that would become a part of me. Every time, I believed it completely.
This seems like a sentiment that’s shared with everyone, that they have only one scent, one toothpaste, one brand of socks. As much as I’ve tried and thought that was true for me too, it’s not.
Because why, of all things, should my scent stay the same when I change?
I grow, I develop, I learn, and I feel differently during different seasons of life. So, maybe instead of fighting these changes with an underlying consistent scent, I change it too to reflect my current state, or use scent to take me back to another time.
Maybe when I’m feeling anxious, I want a scent that takes me back to a time I was free, courageous, and open. When I’m feeling free and open, maybe it’s time to lean into it with a new scent, one reflective of how I feel.
This is what KUKI is all about. Leaning into change, creating emotional keepsakes and new atmospheres.
Change can be a good thing -a very good thing- and can smell pretty damn good too.
